This is a welcome message from the directors of ESD: Kathy Reynaud is a certified language teacher from the French Ministry of Education, having studied in France and Spain, holding a Master’s in Foreign Literature and Civilization, as well as a CAPES. Isaac Trujillo, a certified language teacher from Venezuela, holds a Master’s obtained in Belgium and completed a PhD in Italy. When great minds come together! And this union led to the creation of ESD European School.

We are Kathy Reynaud and Isaac Trujillo, and it is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the world of ESD European School, where every child flourishes and reaches their full potential!
With nearly 20 years of experience as language teachers in Europe and Latin America, we recognized a genuine need in the Dominican Republic for an international school that offers high-quality, in-person education in English, Spanish, and French. As parents, this concern motivated us to take action. Hence, our passion for education and our vision led to the establishment of our own school in September 2020.
ESD European School offers bilingual education in Spanish-French or Spanish-English, following European academic programs and accredited by the United States. This international accreditation opens doors to schools worldwide for our students.
We work hand in hand with you, dear families, with a common goal: to provide a safe environment where children feel at home at school, and where teachers become an extension of their family. Here, they learn from their mistakes, develop their social and emotional skills, while acquiring a strong academic foundation in mathematics, languages, and all subjects, ensuring a promising future.
Your children’s well-being is our priority. That’s why our teacher selection process is rigorous. They undergo comprehensive pedagogical and psychological tests, enabling us to choose teachers who are not only excellent in their field but also carry strong human values and can establish an authentic relationship with your children.
“I like going to school” and “I love my teachers” are phrases frequently heard at ESD, a rarity in a world often disconnected, dominated by technology, and where social relationships are strained.
Our students develop critical thinking, solve advanced math problems without calculators, write essays in one, two, or even three languages. Families are drawn to Cabarete, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, especially since the pandemic.
