About Us
FACULTY & STAFF
At ESD European School, we are proud of a diverse and international team of educators and staff who embody our human-centered, screen-free philosophy. Our qualified and experienced teachers come from various countries and linguistic backgrounds, bringing richness to our bilingual environment.
They are supported by our directors, sub-director, administrative staff, and dedicated support team, all working together to ensure that every student receives individualized attention, strong academic foundations, and meaningful human connection throughout the school day.
United by a shared vision, our staff is committed to offering an educational experience rooted in curiosity, effort, communication, cultural awareness, and respect. Their dedication creates the warm, structured, and intellectually stimulating environment that defines ESD.
OUR TRILINGUAL LIBRARY
t ESD European School, we believe that a love for reading is at the core of genuine learning and intellectual growth. Our trilingual library — featuring books in French, Spanish, and English — offers students access to a rich variety of stories, knowledge, and cultures.
All of our books come from the generosity of parents, partner schools, and friends of ESD, allowing our collection to grow continuously and reflect the diversity of our community.
The library is open throughout the school day, giving students the opportunity to visit during recess or scheduled class sessions. Children may borrow books to take home and are encouraged to explore different genres and languages as part of their weekly reading habits.
Throughout the year, we organize reading activities, and storytelling moments to strengthen literacy skills and cultivate a deep appreciation for literature.
Our library is more than a space for books — it is a place where imagination expands, curiosity grows, and students discover the joy of reading in three languages.
ESD European School
ESD European School was founded in January 2020 by Isaac Trujillo and Kathy Reynaud, two educators with over 20 years of international teaching experience. Seeing the need for a high-quality bilingual school on the North Coast — one that offered human connection and small groups — they created ESD as both a private school and a foundation serving Dominican and expatriate families.
Since then, the school has grown in diversity, academic strength, and community impact. Our campus in Bombita, between Sosúa and Cabarete, provides a natural and welcoming environment where students learn in a screen-free, human-centered setting.
ESD offers a high-quality European-style education, with strong bilingual development and a focus on real learning over technology. ESD proudly provides scholarships each year to children from the local community, reinforcing our commitment to access and opportunity.
The school is currently in the process of obtaining recognition from the Dominican Ministry of Education (MINERD) and issues official U.S. transcripts through a partner school in the United States.
Rooted in authenticity and trust, ESD continues to grow as a vibrant, meaningful educational community.
